Round Rock Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa
$10,000 was recently granted to the Round Rock Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa through the Nancy and Nyle Maxwell Family Fund. Blue Santa provides food cards and toys to underprivileged families at Christmas. In 1978, Blue Santa was established and fewer than twenty families were served. Every year, the numbers have increased and currently over 1,600 individuals are served.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)
$7,000 was recently granted to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) by the Future Fund Giving Circle. CASA advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the court system. Based on the belief that children are entitled to a safe and permanent home, Williamson County CASA, Inc. works in the court system through trained community volunteers, in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel, and community resources to serve as the child’s advocates and represent the child in juvenile court.
Young Life
$4,500 was granted to Young Life by the Future Fund Giving Circle. Young Life is a global, non-denominational, faith-based organization with a mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Young Life accomplishes that goal by praying for young people, going where kids are (into their schools), building personal relationships with them, providing experiences that are fun, adventurous and life changing, and working directly with students to help them develop the skills, assets and attitudes to reach their full God-given potential.
Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation
$4,000 was granted to the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation to purchase school supplies for 400 students. The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation develops and allocates resources to the Round Rock Independent School District to enrich, enhance, and maximize the quality of education for all students.
Chaparral Women’s Club
$2,500 was granted to Chaparral Women’s Club through the Wag-a-Bag Community Fund. The Chaparral Women’s Club has served the community of Round Rock for over 34 years with a goal of promoting member’s awareness and participation in civic and community activities.
Starry
$1,000 was granted to Starry through the Future Fund Giving Circle. Starry’s mission is to support children, youth and parents in crisis through services that protect, educate and promote strong families.
YMCA of Williamson County
$15,000 was received by the YMCA of Williamson County to construct concession stands and to fund their Make a Splash campaign. The grants were made through the Wag-a-Bag and Nancy and Nyle Maxwell Family Funds
Austin Jazz Workshop
$10,000 was granted to the Austin Jazz Workshop. The The Austin Jazz Workshop’s mission is to mentor and perform for public school students in order to encourage their participation in band, orchestra, and choir programs; to uphold and promote the American jazz tradition; and to enhance quality of life for all ages through live performances employing area musicians and collaborations with nonprofit organizations in central Texas.
Austin Diocese Medical Mission
$50,000 was granted from the Nancy and Nyle Maxwell Family Fund to the Austin Diocese Medical Mission. It is dedicated to providing healthcare to poverty stricken people in Mexico and in Central and South America.
Hope Alliance
$10,000 was granted to Hope Alliance by the Nancy and Nyle Maxwell Family Fund. It was founded in 1984 and is dedicated to providing services to those affected by family violence and sexual assault in Williamson County. Hope Alliance provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency domestic violence shelter, therapeutic counseling, and support services at no charge to the approximately 5,000 individuals and families it serves each year.
